from the Daily Quado 1-20-07 newsletter

What mountain would you take on if you had no fear and no doubt, if you had complete belief in yourself and all of the help and love that is there for you, surrounding you in every moment?  If you had complete faith that you could reach the top of the mountain, which mountain would you climb?

Do it anyway

  Do it anyway

Achievement most often takes place under conditions that are less than ideal. Just because there is some problem or difficulty or shortcoming in your life at the moment, it does not prevent you from moving forward.

Focus not on what is missing or what is wrong. Focus on doing your very best within the circumstances as they are.

Seek not to find an excuse. Instead, do what you have chosen to do, create what you have chosen to create, live as you have chosen to live, no matter what.

If you wait until conditions are perfect, you'll spend most of your time waiting. You'll be far better off when you go ahead and put that time to effective and productive use.

There may be plenty of reasonable excuses for not moving forward. Go ahead and do it anyway.

Sure, it would be great if some things were a little different, yet the reality is that conditions are as they are. Do it anyway, for that is the way it will get done.

Ever Increasing Joy

Ever Increasing Joy

One of the most fascinating discoveries that I have made in my life is that no matter how much love you give to others or joy you share with them you still end up with more than you started with. It is a wonderful miracle that never stops amazing me. When I smile and wave at my neighbor across the road I send all of my joy with it. Yet, when I go back inside my house I find that I have even more joy warming my heart and soul than I did before. When I stop to share a few nice words with someone I meet I share my kindness with them as well. Later, however, I find that the kindness in me has grown greater rather than less. When I give my children a hug and tell them I love them I can actually feel the love flowing from my heart and soul to their's. Still, when I look inside myself afterwards I find that the love within me has increased once again.

I still smile everyday at this wonderful miracle although it must drive the mathematicians crazy. I rejoice in this special law of giving that God has blessed our hearts and souls with. I thank God for the ever increasing joy, love, peace, happiness, goodness, and delight that flows back into my life whenever I share it with others. I hope too that one day the entire world realizes this glorious truth and lives it as well.

Norman Vincent Peale said, "Joy increases as you give it, and diminishes as you try to keep it for yourself." Never stop giving your joy away then. Never stop sharing your love with the world. You will be amazed at just how much love you can bless others with. You will be delighted at just how much joy you can spread. And most of all you will be surprised at just how much more love and joy grows in your heart and soul when you do so.

CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2007

CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2007

Last Week I threw out WORRYING,
It was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me,
I couldn't do things my way.

I threw out those inhibitions,
They were just crowding me out.
Made room for my New Growth,
Got rid of my old dreams and doubts.

I threw out a book on MY PAST
(didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with New Goals,
Started reading it today.

I threw out childhood toys
(remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too,
Threw out the one from long ago.

Bought in some new books too,
Called I CAN, I WILL, and I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, You should've seen the dust.

I ran across an OLD FRIEND,
Haven't seen him in a while.
I believe his name is GOD,
Yes, I really like His style.

He helped me to do some cleaning
And added some thing's Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE and FAITH,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.

I picked up this special thing
And placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT - its called PEACE.
Nothing gets me down anymore.

Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble
There just isn't any place.

It's good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter,
Maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.

Meet Your Team for 2007

Meet Your Team for 2007

Today, I would like you to meet the team that is going to support you in 2007.  I would like you to meet Love, Courage, Peace and Faith, to invite them in to be your lifetime companions.  To enter your life and abide there, within you, part of your being, ever a part of your thoughts and actions, an integral part of who you are.

Picture them now.  Great, white and glowing with power, a golden light encircling each one, a light that comes from within, so bright and powerful that fear and doubt cannot survive in their presence.

You may picture them as powerful winged angels, strong and glowing.  You may picture them as knights, galloping in, silver armor flashing, swords ready to defeat the darkness.  You may picture them as great balls of golden energy.  Whatever form you wish them to take, they will take.  Whatever powers you feel they need to have to finally defeat the last bits of fear and doubt within you, you may give them.

See them before you.  Feel yourself open to their presence.  Invite them in now.

First open your heart, wide and wider.  Invite Love to enter and fill your heart completely.  Feel the glow, the warmth, as all the ice melts, as all the hardness softens, as the cracks and fissures mend.  Your heart is glowing with love.  It is nothing but love.  It is love completely.

Now open your heart even wider and allow Courage to take up residence alongside Love.  See what a wonderful team they make, Love and Courage, allowing you to take on anything and everything, confident and daring, yet still feeling safe and secure.

And now, open your mind and invite Faith to enter.  Invite the light of Faith to shine there so brightly, that doubt is instantly dissolved.  It cannot sustain in the bright glow of faith.  Your belief is absolute.  You believe in yourself and all that you can accomplish and you believe also in the help that is there for you.  Your mind is on your side, willing to support the actions that Love and Courage are now yearning for.  They are all working together as your team.

And now, open your center and let it fill with Peace, like a deep and endless pool of water.  This pool of Peace will allow you to come down and reach your personal truth, no matter what is happening, no matter what you are feeling or anyone else is saying.  It will allow you to make your decisions and choices freely, from a deep sense of knowing.

And now, for a moment, just glow within the presence of these four, Love, Courage, Faith and Peace, filling you from head to toe, lighting your life, giving you the absolute power to be the fullest and best expression of yourself that you could possibly be, shining with the glory that is you.

And now, feel how a fifth presence is forming.  It is Joy, for Joy is naturally formed wherever Love, Courage, Faith and Peace abide.  Joy cannot stay away when her friends are all present.  And Joy surrounds you now and is within you and without you, lifting your energies higher and higher.

And now they are all with you:  your team for 2007.  How blessed you are!

From "Discovery" newsletter I receive

The beautiful season brings with it such an opportunity for growth.  We don't need to get lost in the mass of activities and preparations for the holidays.  Go slow.  Remember to breath.  Allow time to regroup, to think, to relax.  Don't let this precious time deplete you.  Focus on taking care of yourself.  This is such a gift that only you can give to yourself.  Do it this year.  You deserve the very best......... you are such a blessing to so many people, and as you learn how to take care of yourself better, you have more gifts to share with others along the way.

Each moment is an open door you can walk through.  But at the same time, there is no need for regret, for the next moment is an open door as well, and even though you will not have exactly the same opportunity, you will have another, one that is perfect in its own moment.

I Wish You Enough

I wish you enough~

I never really thought that I'd spend as much time in
airports as I do. I don't know why. I always wanted
to be famous and that would mean lots of travel.
But I'm not famous, yet I do see more than my share
of airports.

I love them and I hate them  I love them
because of the people I get to watch.  But
they are also the same reason I hate airports.
It all comes down to "hello and goodbye."
I must have mentioned this a few times while writing
my stories for you.  I have great difficulties with saying
goodbye.  Even as I write this I am experiencing that
pounding sensation in my heart.  If I am watching such
a scene in a movie I am affected so much that I need
to site up and take a few deep breaths.

So when faced with a challenge in my life I have been
known to go to our local airport and watch people say
goodbye.  I fugue nothing that is happening to me at
that time could be as bad as having to say goodbye.
Watching people cling to each other, crying and holding
each other in that last embrace makes me appreciate
what I have even more.  Seeing them finally pull
apart, extending their arms until the tips of their
fingers are the last to let go, is an image
that stays forefront in my mind throughout the day.

On one of my recent business trips, when I arrived at the counter to check in, the

woman said. "How are you today?"  I replied, "I am missing my wife already and I

haven't even said goodbye"  She then looked at my ticket and began to ask, "How long

will you... Oh, my God.  You will only be gone three days!"

  We all laughed
My problem was I still had to say goodbye.
But I learn from goodbye moments, too.

Recently I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together.  They had

announced her departure and standing hear the security gate, they hugged and he said.

"I love you.  I wish you enough."  She in turn said, "Daddy, our life together has been

more then enough.  Your love is more then I ever needed.  I wish you enough, too,

Daddy."

They kissed and she left,  He walked over toward the window where I was seated.

Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry.  I tried not to intrude on his need for privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking "Did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?"
"Yes, I have." I replied.  Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my

love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me.  Recognizing that his days were

limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me.  So I knew

what this man was experiencing.
"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever goodbye?"

I asked.
"I am old and she lives much too far away.  I have challenges ahead and the reality is,

the next trip back would be for my funeral,"  he said.

When you were saying goodbye I heard you say, "I wish you enough."  May I ask what
that means?"

He began to smile.  "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations.

My parents used to say it to everyone."  He paused for a moment and looking up as if

trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more.

"When we said 'I wish you enough.' we were wanting the other person to have a life

filled with just enough good things to sustain them."  He continued and then turning

toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting from memory.

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude right.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.
I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in
life appear much bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you posses,
I wish you enough "Hello's' to get you through
the final "Goodbye"
He then began to sob and walked away.

My friends, I wish you enough !

How do those dead bugs get into those enclosed light fixtures?

When we are in the supermarket and someone rams our ankle with a

Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling
off the table you always manage to knock something else over?

Quado Daily Portion

Turn the ordinary into a joyful experience

Today is a day of joy and connection.  Today is a day to step outside and take a deep breath and declare to all the world:  I am alive!  Today is a day to feel the energy coursing through your veins and allow that energy to flow freely, enlivening and empowering you.  Today is a day to embrace simply being alive, for no other reason than because you are.

Do not judge whether outer circumstances are good enough to allow you to enjoy yourself.  Do not set the day against a standard which must be met before you fill with joy.  Fill with joy just because you are you and the day is.

Life is.  It unfolds as it unfolds.  You are.  You stand within your life and blossom.  Let us see you blossom.

Take one moment in your life, something very ordinary that you do every day, and turn it into a spiritual and joyful experience.  For example, going out to get the mail or the newspaper.  Walking across a parking lot and passing under a tree.  Walking by a window that overlooks a garden.  Take some moment with a touch of beauty in it and fill that moment with joy.  Every time you walk down the driveway or parking lot or by that window, slow down, take a deep breath and pull in joy, letting it pour in with golden energy through the top of your head and fill your body completely, each breath pulling in more golden joy.

Do this every day.  And throughout the day, if you find yourself feeling sad or low, just picture that moment and breathe in the joy again.

Teach your mind and body this experience of joy and beauty.  You deserve to be full of love and joy every moment of every day.

Patience

Recently while exchanging emails with someone they mentioned maybe God was testing their patience.  This was my reply:

Gee, please don't tell me you have been praying for patience! Please!  I learned when I was a teenager (in youth group) that you don't pray for patience.  Why? Cause God doesn't just zap you with patience.  Nope, that is something you have to learn.  And if you pray for patience then you will start having all kinds of problems that will help you learn patience!

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.

"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . . you become 21.. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50

and your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80s and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them "

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouchespull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9 Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10 Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
